Quality of the olive oil
Here are the classifications and characteristics of each type of oil:
- Extra virgin olive oils: These oils are obtained only by mechanical processes. They are characterized by a fruity taste of olive and must not contain any defect.
- Virgin olive oil: Oils obtained only by mechanical or other physical processes and which have not undergone any treatment other than washing, decanting, centrifugation and filtration.
- Refined olive oils: These are obtained by refining virgin olive oil.
- Olive oils: composed of refined olive oils and virgin olive oils: They are oils obtained by cutting of refined olive oil with virgin olive oil.
- Olive-pomace oils: They are obtained from the olive pomace treated with solvents or by physical processes.
- Refined olive-pomace oils: They are obtained by refining raw olive-pomace oil.
- Olive-pomace oils: They are oils obtained from the cut of refined olive-pomace oil and virgin olive oil.
